It looks like the economy is finally starting to turn around. It may not feel like we have turned the corner yet, but consumers are starting to change their attitudes. A recent article in the Nations Restaurant News Consumers, operators express more optimism for 2010 as ?09 limps to end ? Nation?s Restaurant News indicates attitudes are changing.

Many restaurateurs have been putting off hiring key employees because of the hard times. And, there are some great managers, servers, and chefs with years of restaurant experience looking for jobs. This is why I say, now is the time to hire!

The best candidates are going to be the first ones hired. If you wait until business is booming, you will have missed out on the best possible person for your open position. Starting early also means that you aren't desperate and you can take your time. You also have time to train them right.

And finally, if you hire the right person they will either help your business grow, or give you the time you need to make your business grow.
