Hello,
First find a "good" location around traffic . Then do a survey of what patrons in the area would like to have access to. Then do a customer survey of the areas competiton. First you've got to do some homework .

Default "GOOD" location, I think not.

In this economy you need a "GREAT" location. And with great locations come high dollar rents.....are you ready for that?

Smile Advertising Helps Get Ahead

check this site out CarryOut Directory, they offer a very cool and simple to use business website where you can actually list your menus with images if you choose. You can also add printable coupons, business hours, payments accepted and so on all for about $20/month. If you had a website like this developed you're talking about a couple of thousand dollars upfront not to mention the monthly cost of hosting the site and maintenance. Worth checking them out.

Good Luck!!!

Hi shaunboise

During the difficult economic times, there are many small business owners who are missing the skill or will to continue on and wish they could get out. Since they are not "marketers", they try to work through it by cost managing and will not promote selling their business any more than selling their product.

The result? Many businesses are "for sale" but not listed. It is the "I wish someone would walk in the door and get me out of my problem" mindset.

If you can connect with owner/operators of small sandwich shops, pizza restaurants, etc. I would bet you would find a great deal and help someone out of their troubles. (it might be much less expensive to renovate and rejuvenate a business than opening a brand new location with new equipment)

There have been many scenarios in my past where an old operation is bought for a song, renovated and upgraded slightly, and jump-started to profits.

Don't invent, improve.

To your success;
Mike
